The Natural Algae EyePads from artefactum are based on Laminaria algae that grow under exceptional natural conditions. Their origin lies in one of the most productive and at the same time most pristine marine regions on earth: the Benguela ecosystem off the coast of Namibia and selected coastal regions of Ireland.
A unique ecosystem as the foundation
The western African coast of Namibia is shaped by the Benguela Current, one of the oldest, strongest and most nutrient-rich ocean current systems in the world. In combination with constant south to south-easterly winds, it creates one of the most intensive upwelling areas worldwide. Cold, nutrient-rich deep water rises to the surface and creates ideal conditions for marine organisms.
This natural abundance is reflected in the quality of the algae. Laminaria provides valuable polysaccharides, minerals and natural structural components that are especially suitable for cosmetic applications around the eye area.
Natural performance for modern cosmetics
Our EyePads combine natural raw material origin with cosmetic functionality. They are designed for a pleasant skin feel, good moisture release and a high-quality application experience. The result is a product concept that unites nature, technology and modern cosmetic product development.
